The Oasthouse
Completed in 2024, "The Oasthouse" project focused on the internal transformation of a traditional oasthouse and its accompanying outbuilding/garage. The brief for the main house was to create a character-driven scheme that modernised the interior while maintaining the building’s original charm. The result is a more cohesive and functional floor plan, blending period features with contemporary finishes to suit modern family living.
In parallel, the existing garage block was converted into a bespoke Pilates studio for the client’s professional use.
Retaining its traditional black cladding, the design introduced new barn-style doors with large glazed panels behind, allowing natural light to flood the space while offering views out from the studio. The project strikes a careful balance between respecting heritage form and introducing modern usability.
